I rejoined the Mountain Leader Training Course at the overnight camp spot beneath at Ffynnon Llafant high on the slopes of Carnedd Llewelyn. They’d walked in over a high level route from Capel Curig with Tarquin whilst in a course swap I’d taken a gentler approach via the Cwm Dulyn bothy with our Mountaincraft Course. Both groups were back out for a bit more navigation at night and although clearly not as bright as during the day time a near full moon meant that it was almost possible to make our way around without the help of torches. It was a different story this morning however with the walk back to the Ogwen Valley being in thick cloud and over the highest reaches of Carnedd Llewelyn a return to walking in snow. Once back in the valley we rounded off the course by practicing some of the various techniques that can be used to aid the crossing of rivers. Thanks all for a great week and good luck in the future. A big thanks also to Helen for helping us out all week.
