The warmest day of the year so far I hear and I’ve enjoyed the fine weather scrambling again with Gerry and Rachel. We’ve been up the East Ridge of Y Garn. A route of two halves with a snaking path through the bilberry linking rough rock barriers on the broad lower ridge before a steep entry pitch gains the narrow rock crest which forms the upper stretches of the scramble. Back at Ogwen cottage by mid-afternoon and with energy left to spare Rachel and myself grabbed a second scramble with the aptly named Pinnacle Ridge of Pen yr Ole Wen’s Braich Ty Du Face.
