For the second day of our advanced scrambling course, Freddie, Toby and I headed into Cwm Idwal. The weather started as sub-optimal and I had to wear y waterproofs for the first time in several months! We scrambled up the side of the Idwal Slabs and into Cwm Cneifion where the wind and the rain really picked up! Thankfully as we climbed the Cneifion Arete the rain stopped and the rock dried quickly in the breeze – we enjoyed a walk down without hard shells on. From a skills point of view the contrast to yesterday was ideal, making the boys think carefully about their footwork and moving well over the ground. I will be happy to see the sun again though!
