Who is the course suitable for?
The Costa Blanca is famous for its winter sun, and almost as famous for its fantastic rock climbing on immaculate weathered limestone. Forget polished limestone the likes of which we find in the UK and think limestone so grippy it wears your fingers away over a weekend! If you are a keen rock climber and happy seconding Hard Severe then this is the ideal introduction to big mountain routes and sport climbing in the sunshine.

What does the course cover?
Our course takes advantage of the Spanish winter climate, summers here are too hot, and of the cheap flights and accommodation available at this time of year. As the guidebook says the thrill of stepping on a plane on a grey English day and emerging 2 1/2 hours later in bright Spanish sunshine takes some beating. 

You fly out on an evening and stay in the Finestrat area, approx. 45 minutes drive from Alicante Airport. We then have 3 full days climbing to include the following:

2 days sport climbing - We will provide you with the instruction you need to get you successfully leading sport routes, and of course dealing with the lower off without leaving gear behind. 

Mountain Day - If the weather allows then we will guide you on Puig Campana via Espolon Central. This is a big 13 pitch route taking in over 1500 feet of climbing and typically taking 10 hours of daylight. The views as we climb are magnificent, looking out across the Mediterranean, Benidorm, Alicante and of course the beautiful mountains. Click here for photos

The course price includes instruction, climbing kit, accommodation and transport during the course. Flights are not included but we fly Easy Jet from Stanstead to Alicante and in 2007 the cost was approx. £45 per person. 

Accommodation is included in the price on a twin room basis and we will all stay at a pleasant apartment close to the crags and you can choose to self cater or eat out.

Group Bookings
If there are two or more people booking then we can arrange a bespoke course for you at any time during the winter months. This will be run by Silvia Fitzpatrick and can be anything from single pitch sport routes for beginners through to performance coaching for experienced climbers. Follow this link for details
