Expedition Safety
The safety and well being of all participants will be of the utmost priority during the visit and all reasonable precautions will be taken to minimise the risks involved.

Rob holds a Mountain First Aid Certificate and the local guides will also be qualified in First Aid and have many years experience of working on Kilimanjaro. We will do our utmost to get you to the summit safely, we will only ask you to turn back for a good reason so please listen to our advice on the mountain.

By definition adventurous expeditions such as this always carry an element of risk. Rob is a highly experienced and qualified International Mountain Leader and will be able to manage that risk but never remove it. Clients should be aware that there is a danger of injury or loss of life that can never be completely removed.

In the event of any problem or accident guides have contact with base and can summon a ranger rescue team, these can reach most points on the mountain in just a few hours. Your park entry fees include a mountain rescue fee that covers for all expenses other than air rescue which you must have insurance for.

The biggest risk to trekkers is altitude sickness which is why we have gone to great lengths to ensure that our 2 week programme offers sufficient time for acclimatisation, even if this makes us a little more expensive than our competitors. Read Robs altitude article.
