There are lots of reasons not to go to Lofoten. It rains - a lot! It is a long way, at least 2 full days travelling. You will spend days sat in a tent because the weather is so bad. Beer is £6 a pint. Food is double the price of home. There are also lots of reasons to go. The main one being it is the most beautiful, unspoilt wilderness rock climbing and scrambling destination I have ever been to.

Imagine spiky granite mountains falling dramatically into the beautiful Norwegian fjords, snow capped peaks in every direction, long multi pitch routes with 24 hour daylight and free camping on the beach.

The climbing is awesome. Hard, grippy granite with single and multi pitch routes all with sea views. Most of the routes involve a lot of jamming, from finger cracks to hand jams to full off widths.

The scrambling is equally good with long alpine ridges in stunning surroundings.

If you fancy it and think that you can put up with a bit of suffering then give us a call. You need to be able to second HVS, be happy on grade 2 scrambles and have attended one of our rock climbing courses with Rob before.

The course fee includes instruction/guiding and use of all equipment. Accommodation is camping which is free of charge and we can lend you a tent free of charge if required. There are a variety of travel options combining a mixture of flying and ferries but be prepared for 2 days travelling at either end of the trip. We will camp on the beach, cook over open fires and we will build time into the trip to have rest days with options including sea kayaking and whale spotting.
