The Longstone Pinnacle, Symonds Yat, Wye Valley
I grew up in Worcestershire and this was my local crag. It is a limestone crag with a car park and cafe at the top in a beautiful location. My two favourite routes are situated on the Long Stone Pinnacle. This limestone pinnacle stands proud of the crag overlooking the River Wye and is visible from the pub below which adds to the glory when you are stood on its top!
Vertigo - Severe
This is the classic route that climbs the front of the Pinnacle in a single pitch. The photos show my oldest lad Josh when he was 14 on a Sunday out. There is not a great deal of protection but the holds are big. You follow the obvious crack from the base to the summit and then revel in the views and exposure.
Whitt - VS 4c
This is a great little two pitch route that climbs the opposit face to Vertigo. It was my first VS4c and so was a bit of a landmark route for me. Its friendly for the grade and the belay at the top of the first pitch is great in a small cave overlooking the river. The second pitch is slightly overhanging on big holds and is awesome!
