As a Dad with four sons I know how hard it can be trying to keep kids entertained during school holidays and weekends. I also know how important it is for families to have shared experiences, to be able to look back at things together and laugh. These family activity courses are designed to be flexible in terms of content and length to suit you.

We run these courses with 1 instructor to each family and so the exact programme can be tailored to suit your specific needs. There are no dates on the diary page for these courses because we will run them when you want them during school holidays or at weekends. When the kids get back to school they will be able to tell tales of climbing vast mountains on an adventure weekend in Snowdonia where even Mum & Dad made it!

We need at least 1 adult and all children must be over 8 years old and accompanied by their parent(s) at all times. Click on the link at the top of this page for a list of accommodation options. Youth Hostels can provide economical family rooms in stunning locations to keep costs down or even cheaper still you can camp to make a true family adventure trip in Snowdonia.

Here are some of the activities that we can provide:

Family Navigation Course: A simple and enjoyable day in the mountains of Snowdonia mastering the skills of using a map and compass.

Rock Climbing & Abseiling for families in Snowdonia: Enjoy single pitch rock climbing in Snowdonia, suitable for all the family with no long walk ins and all can do as much or as little as they like. We can also do an abseil if folk want to.

Family Scrambling Courses: The family can enjoy some of the more remote mountain ridges and gullies in Snowdonia. For this activity children need to be over 12 and all participants need a good level of fitness.

Prices: The following prices are based on a maximum of 2 adults and 4 children. If you have a bigger family we will employ an additional instructor which adds £200 per day. Family days can only be run from Monday to Friday. For weekends please visit our private guiding page.

Hi Rob,
Just a quick note to say thanks for the photos. I look a bit worried in
some of them! We had a great time and everyone (even me) agreed that our
second day of climbing was the best day of the holiday. I would even go

Hi Rob - Just to say thank you for a great day last weekend. Despite the weather we all enjoyed it. I must say it was a totally new experience for some of us in the group but you can safely say that you made our introduction to scrambling fun and very enjoyable. We will definitely do it again. Being together as a family in challenging weather conditions and in such a fantastic environment was a truly exhilarating time.
