Private Courses & Group Packages with Rob Johnson

Approximately half of my working time is spent running private courses. Clients like the flexibility of being able to choose dates and course programmes to suit them.

Some of the advantages are:
- You choose the date - just call or email to arrange dates
- You choose the activity - you can mix and match perhaps going climbing one day and navigating the next
- You spend your time with friends that you know
- You can do specific routes or peaks
- You can learn specific new skills or train for specific objectives

How does it work?
I charge a daily rate. You decide what you want do in that day and share the cost with your friend(s). Different activities require different ratios for safety - this affects how many people you can share the cost with. I have set these out below, along with the cost of a days instruction/guiding. My qualifications & experience

I work full time as an instructor as well as being an active climber and mountaineer in my spare time, and a member of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team. The majority of my work is skills based providing mountain training to adults in navigation, scrambling, rock climbing, winter walking and winter climbing & mountaineering. I also act as a technical advisor for schools and climbing walls providing health and safety advice, staff training and adventure training for youngsters and adults. I work on Mountain Leader and SPA training and assessment courses for local providers, am a provider for the Climbing Wall Award and I am also a member of the AMI workshop staff providing refresher training for Mountain Instructor trainees. I also provide technical and consultancy services to television production companies for filming in mountainous terrain.

Qualifications wise I hold the MIC and IML awards. If that means nothing to you then you can read an explanation here. I am also a past secretary of AMI (The Association of Mountaineering Instructors). I am a full member of AMI, BAIML (British Association of International Mountain Leaders) and MLTA (Mountain Leader Training Association).

I am a regular contributor to various magazines in the outdoor press. You can read some of my articles and clients testimonials here.

Whether you are looking to go hillwalking for the first time, progress your own instructional career or plan an overseas expedition for a group of friends I will be keen to help and look forward to hearing from you.
