How to tie knots you need for climbing.
I use a figure of eight knot to tie onto the end of the rope and then the other knot that I use a lot for tieing into anchors is the clove hitch. Here is how to tie them:
Figure of eight knotWhen it has been tied correctly it looks like a figure of 8 and thats why it is popular. Its easy to tie and its easy to see if its wrong. When tieing onto the end of a rope I use a re-threaded figure of eightTieing into a climbing harness knot which is finished off with a stopper knot as shown in the picture on the right.

 

 

 

The clove hitch is great for tieing into anchors because it can be tied into the middle of a piece of rope, is simple to tie and readily adjustable. Heres how:
