Hi Rob
Just quickie to say thanks for a great time last week and for all your help with the climbing – I feel that I got a huge amount out of it. Hope all’s going well with the house Tom, Adventure Travel Magazine - Rock Improver June 08
"

Hi Rob - I just arrived home, and after the compulsory bragging and exaggerating to Teresa, I wanted to write and thank you for the wonderful experiences this week. There were some wonderful highlights, not least of which was the delight I felt at finishing Great Western, Dinas Mott at your encouragement. All week I felt totally safe, and confident in your abilities to guide and protect me, thank you so very much. Thanks Rob, for everything. Best regards Bill R"

Rock Improvers Course in Snowdonia - Course Content

Location: Snowdonia
Price: £200 per person
Ratio: 1:2
Length: 2 days

Who is the course suitable for?
This course is for people who have done some rock climbing before and want a refresher or some tips on how to improve their climbing or perhaps would like to move from single to multi pitch climbs. It is ideal for people who have done a lot of climbing in the past but have not been able to get out recently or people who feel that they have plateaud in their performance and would benefit from some tips and pointers. The course will look at both climbing movement skills and technical skills.

What does the course cover?

Rob runs these courses on a 1:2 ratio to ensure that the pace of the day is set at your ability. The course is based on getting as much climbing done as possible and teaching/coaching on the rock. Over the two days we can look at anything that you specifically want to cover including:

~ Personal equipment and organising it on your harness
~ Gear Placement
~ Belaying a lead climber and a second
~ The process of leading
~ Stance Organisation (rope and second management)
~ Abseil Retreats
~ Emergency Procedures
~ Judgement, route choice and route finding
~ Efficient movement skills
~ Performance coaching
~ Progressing from single to multi pitch climbing

The course will be run entirely on the rock face although if the weather really is bad we may head indoors for a skill based session.

Where is the course held?
We run the course in Snowdonia. Snowdonia offers every type of climbing from roadside crags to long mountain routes and has its sheltered venues suitable for rock climbing through the winter months (the North Wales coastline being particularly good).

Whats included?
The course fee includes instruction and the use of any specialist equipment. You can read our "whats included" and kit list page here.

What about accommodation?
We do not include accommodation with this course. For a variety of different accommodation options in Snowdonia, from camping to nice hotels, visit this link.
