Sandy and I have moved across from Austria and are now in Slovenia, running a trekking week in the Julian Alps. The fine sunny weather has come with us and its a joy to be trekking in the achingly beautiful scenery.
On Monday we walked from Kranjska Gora and headed up Ciprnik (1747m) which gave some beautiful walking through the forests and up onto a lovely small summit that provides views into the Triglav range. Conveniently there is also a hut for drinks on the way down! On Tuesday we drove up the Vrsic Pass and then headed up Slemenova Spica (1909m) before descending the beautiful Planica valley back down to Kranjska Gora.
Wednesday saw us head back up the Vrsic Pass and this time head up Mala Mojstrovka (2333m), our highest summit of the week so far and with a big mountain feel about it, as well as fantastic views in all directions.
Our last two days saw us head up into the bigger mountains and spend a night in the Triglavski Dom where we enjoyed some amazing views and of course an amazing summit!
