The kids went to bed with hot water bottles last night and there was ice to scrape from the car again this morning. With a stiff wind blowing it certainly felt cold on the hills today. For the second day of the two day Introduction to Scrambling Course we’ve been on Tryfan where Alan, Andy and Dave have put into practice a lot of what they learnt yesterday. As well as moving slickly on an ascent of the North Ridge and descent by the sheltered North and Little Gullies the boys have all had a good go at using the rope to protect the steeper sections of a scramble. They and Karen who was out with us yesterday have all done really well and I’m sure will be confidently cruising around the classic scrambles of Great Britain under their own steam in the very near future.
