I swapped in for the last two days of the Mountain Leader Training Course. The end of the course is usually when we go out overnight and this is what we did this time. Starting from the top of the Crimea Pass Heather, Lizzie, Tim, Pieter, Colin and me made a couple of short navigation legs eastwards towards our selected camp spot near Llynau Barlwyd. Putting up the tents early in the day suited the weather which deteriorated as the day went on. Out during the afternoon and into the evening we got to enjoy some great poor weather navigation conditions on and around Moel Penamnen. As good fortune would have it the skies had actually cleared again by the time we returned to the tents making it easier to cook and settle in for the night. There was rain again by the morning though which had the advantage of no-one really worrying about getting their boots wet when it came the practicing river crossings back in Capel Curig.
