Shae, Oli and me put a lot of thought into planning this morning but we still ended up with nine hours of fighting. Deep snow is making it difficult to move around in the mountains as well as contributing to a considerable avalanche hazard. Aonach Dubh was a crag low enough to keep us below that danger but it was still a battle just to get up it. We plumbed for C Buttress which took us most of the way up the cliff before finishing with the easy upper pitches of Amphitheatre Scoop. Not that anything is easy in waist deep snow. The descent via Stob Coire nan Lochan was almost as tortuous. A great day out!
