Mountaincraft Course Reviews

I took part in a 6 day Mountain Craft course back in April. The course exceeded my already high expectations (having read other reviews!) I was a relative beginner compared to others on the course, but Rob ensured that we all enjoyed learning and experience relative to our skills and fitness. Two days of practical navigation skills, two days of scrambling and an over-night wild camp……just amazing! I have gained so much more confidence in getting out in the mountains on my own. It was fun, hard work, exhilerating and I ended every day tired but buzzing! I can’t thank Rob enough and I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone wanting to improve and develop their mountain skills. I’ll definitely be booking another course! By Karen J on Jun 05, 2025

I recently attended the mountain craft but due to injury only completed the navigation section led by Rob Johnson. He is the Yoda of the mountains and a highly regarded expedition guide. You could not learn off a better person. His extensive experience in mountaineering, climbing, and guiding, combined with his warm, friendly, and encouraging demeanor, made the course an exceptional experience. Rob’s expert knowledge and ability to inspire confidence were evident throughout, and his personal approach ensured that all participants felt at ease. His dedication to sustainable practices and deep understanding of the local terrain further enhanced the adventure. By Steven L on Apr 22, 2025
