Who is the Snowdonia Mountaineering Week suitable for?

You have enjoyed some grade 1 scrambling and have perhaps done our advanced scrambling course too. You want to enjoy a spectacular week ticking off the best mountaineering routes in Snowdonia and for you it is less about learning skills and more about getting in mileage. Simply put you want a great week doing the best routes that the mountains have to offer!

Where is the course held?

We run the advanced scrambling course in Snowdonia. We have a wealth of historic mountain scrambles to choose from that are all easily accessable with relatively short walk-ins.

What about equipment?

We provide all of the specialist equipment such as ropes, harnesses, helmets and the climbing rack. If you have your own kit you are welcome to use it. We will provide you with a detailed kit list when you book on the course.

What about accommodation & transport?

We do not include accommodation with this course. For a variety of different accommodation options in Snowdonia, from camping to nice hotels, see our link on the top right of this page. The link also shows road and rail travel options to Snowdonia.

Who runs the course?

The courses are run by myself and fellow instructor Huw. We both hold I hold the MIC qualifications (the highest instructional qualification in the UK) and have many years of practical experience of working with a wide range of clients. We also have a number of coaching qualifications between us and are approved providers and tutors for Mountain Training UK’s Mountain Skils and Hill Skills Awards and ML Awards. On top of that we share a firm belief in learning by doing and in having fun in the process! You can read more about our qualifications and experience here.

Meeting Place & Time

Once you book we will send you a comprehensive set of course notes and a letter of confirmation, this will include a detailed kit list and details of where and when we meet. The first day normally starts at 9:30am in Capel Curig and finishes in the same place at about 4:00pm.

Martin, Advanced Scrambling Course May 2016
Hello Rob,
As I sit here in the 30 degree London heat I’m thinking back to the novel sensation of being cold and wet as we started the Cneifion Arete on Friday…
Thanks for the excellent guiding, choice of routes and cracking company – exactly what I wanted and very helpful.  It’s reaffirmed my love of scrambling and made me itchy to get back up there and continue my solo explorations.
As I mentioned I’m up in early October with my partner Pam so I’ll hope to see you or Huw then
