Travel & Accommodation Fort William
Travel
Fort William benefits from easy access via road and train. In the winter months the Highland Council do a great job of keeping the roads free from snow and it is very rare that we ever experience any travel disruption, despite regularly having snow down to the road. Plan your journey by car here.
Fort William has a station close to the centre of town that is readily accessible, including the sleeper train from London. Check out ticket options and plan your journey here.
If you are travelling by plane then the most accessible airport is Glasgow. You can then get a train or hire a car for the remainder of the journey.
We do not provide transport as part of the course but Huw and I are happy to give people a lift from the meeting point each day if they need it. On our winter skills courses we have more clients than seats in cars so if you need a lift please email us in advance of the course to check that there are enough spaces in the car.
Accommodation Options
We generally meet each morning at the Costa Coffee on north Road, Fort William. See on map.
If you choose accommodation that is in Fort William itself then you will be able to walk to the meeting point should you wish.

Other Options
There is generally a good choice of last minute options in the winter months on Booking.com. If you are joining us in September then don’t leave it until the last minute to book as things get filled up quickly at that time of year.
